I really appreciated how Peter laid out a practical approach to overcoming the tremendous challenges we are facing. Project 2025 is perhaps the scariest document ever created in America by Americans. (Disclosure: I’ve only read the summary/synopsis.)
The mask has fallen. The gloves are off. They don’t need to operate in the shadows anymore. And that’s a good thing! It’s hard to fight a hidden enemy.
And we do need to fight, albeit nonviolently. We can only accomplish the goal (maintenance of American democracy) if we are united. We (meaning those of us who remain pro-Democracy) absolutely have to put aside our quibbling differences for a little while and agree to:
1. Vote.
2. Vote for a candidate who can actually win.
3. Vote for the candidate who has demonstrated a pro-democracy stance consistently.
Only Biden satisfies points 2 and 3.
(Sorry RFK jr fans. He has zero chance of winning and it’s highly debatable whether he satisfies criterion 3.)
There are no perfect systems nor leaders. And that’s precisely why democracy works so well—when it’s allowed to. Our collective intelligence can vastly surpass our limited individualistic viewpoints and opinions. Democracy is self-correcting, dynamic and adaptive. And it’s at the breaking point, apparently.
